On Sunday, May 29, twenty seniors marched for commencement in the appropriately-decorated gym  reflecting their Aim "Every successful journey begins and ends in faith, regardless of the events in between."  Co-valedictorians of the Class of 2011 include Andrea Hoover and Shannon Morgan while the salutatorian is Michaella Thomas.  Of the twenty graduating seniors:

• five received the Award of Merit from the Ohio Board of Education
• fourteen received an Honors Diploma
• eight are members of the National Honor Society
• seven have been at SVA for grades 1 through 12 while twelve attended all four years of high school at SVA
• eleven earned the President's Education Award for a cumulative GPA of 3.5 or above and a standardized achievement test score at the 85th percentile or higher in math and/or reading
• eight received a College Prep Diploma
• four were recognized by the Community Blood Center for being a life-saving blood donor donating blood three or more times during their high school career
• 20 seniors were awarded a combined total of more than two million dollars in scholarships!

Graduation exercises were held May 27-29 beginning with Consecration on Friday night at the Centerville SDA Church featuring parent tributes and the Consecration Address given by Mr. Daanan Foster, Athletic Director/MS Bible & History Teacher.  Baccalaureate was held 11:45 AM Saturday morning at the Kettering SDA Church with Mr. Ben Moushon, Recruitment Coordinator for Kettering Health Network as guest speaker.  Class Night was held that evening beginning at 9:15 PM in the school gymnasium where commencement also occurred the next day.  Dr. Donvan Ross, Vice Principal, gave the Commencement Address which was especially rewarding as father of senior, Danielle Ross.  SVA congratulates all seniors & extends our very best wishes in all your future endeavors!
