Transportation

Free public school bus transportation is provided to students living in Centerville, Kettering, Springboro  or West Carrollton public school districts.  It is your responsibility to notify your school district and inform them that your child will be riding the bus.  You need to find out the location and time of pick-up.  We will provide each school district with a list of students in their district to verify that the student is enrolled in our school.  West Carrollton only busses in the morning while Centerville, Kettering and Springboro offer bussing both in the morning and afternoon.  Springboro transports only elementary school studens. Public districts will only transport students who reside in their district, i.e., students living outside the Centerville district may not ride on the Centerville bus with a friend.

Spring Valley Academy transports RTA students to and from the South Hub both in the morning and afternoon at no charge.  Students riding the RTA may purchase a school RTA pass at a discounted rate through the registrar's office.  Passes must be paid for by the 15th of each month for the use the following month.

SVA offers a PM bus that runs through West Carrollton and Miamisburg at an addition monthly charge.  Parents should complete an SVA Transportation Request Form by August 1 in order to be scheduled on this route.

Several other districts offer transportation reimbursement to parent(s)/guardian(s), returning a portion of the tax dollars they receive to transport students in lieu of providing transportation.  School enrollment and attendance verification information is submitted to each of these districts offering reimbursement.  If you live outside of a district that provides transportation, contact your school district for possible reimbursement of transportation costs.  More information regarding transportation is available from the registrar, Diann Ring.

School busses will pick-up and drop-off behind the school.  Parents are asked to pick-up and drop-off in front of the school.

SCHOOL BUS SAFETY REGULATIONS

In order to ensure the safety of all students who use the school bus, either for daily transportation or on school trips, the following safety regulations must be observed:

  • Students are not permitted to get on or off the bus except at regular stops
  • There must be no crowding and a single file must be maintained while loading or unloading the bus
  • Nothing is to be thrown from the bus at any time
  • Students are to remain in their seats while the bus is in motion
  • Improper language, gestures and/or profanity are not permitted
  • Students are to obey all requests of the bus driver cheerfully and promptly

High school students may drive to school as long as they park in the designated area and purchase a parking pass.  This pass may be purchased from the office for a $10 ($5 is refundable at the end of the year when parking pass is returned) and must be displayed on the vehicle.  Driving privileges will be suspended for speeding and careless driving on school property.

STUDENT DRIVERS

High school students may drive to school as long as they park in the designated student parking area in the front parking lot to your right as you enter the school campus.  [This includes seniors who use to park in spaces on the circular driveway but are now required to park in the student parking area described above.]  A parking pass/fee is no longer required for student drivers, however, driving privileges will be suspended for speeding and careless driving on school property.  Thank you for your cooperation.
