Spring Valley Academy's art department, under the direction of Renee Guthrie, encourages each student's creative expression through the medium of Ceramics I & II, Photo & Design, and Art I-IV. 

Upon entering the Art room one can readily appreciate the sky lights affording natural light for the student artist. This is just one example of how the art department has been designed to enhance artistic energy.  Beyond just learning how to create art using the elements and principles of art, the organizational concepts of visual literacy is studied.

Each year the art department enjoys an Art Tour (which has traveled nationally and internationally) and an K-12 Art Fair Open House usually held in May.
